Welcome GRHL fans, I hope you all are having a fantastic offseason so far. We are just over 2 weeks away from puck drop of opening night and the buzz around the league is really starting to pick up. I’ve got a special article for you today with some stats and projections for you to nerd out on. Disclaimer, these numbers are brought to you by a goaltender who has taken too many pucks to the helmet and my viewpoints are purely for entertainment purposes. So don’t read too much into them and take everything below this with a grain of salt.
Pate’s 26-27 Goal and GAA predictions
We here at the GRHL Labs pride ourselves on our scientific excellence. So, to come up with our projections we utilized a fool proof method. We took Goals Scored divided Games Played and multiplied by 13 to simulate the goals over a season. We prioritized regular games and disregarded waiver games whenever possible. For new players coming into the league who didn't record a goal or saw limited action, we used best practice... we guessed.
For goaltenders, we tried to match current team standing or team build projections and match the goalies to seasons that best matched their team’s current build. For example, for Kyle Hempen we only utilized years that the Sting were cup contenders as this should be a more accurate representation of the current team. Show-Me Division:
